Class & Section Academic → Class & Section

| Field | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Class Name | Required | E.g. Class 1, Class 2, Nursery, KG, Grade 9. This is the display name used everywhere. |
| Numeric Value | Optional | A number used for sorting (e.g. Nursery=0, KG=1, Class 1=2, Class 10=11). Lower number = lower in school. |
| Field | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Section Name | Required | E.g. A, B, C, or Rose, Lily, etc. |
| Class | Required | Select which class this section belongs to. |
Assign Class Teacher Academic → Class & Section → Assign Class Teacher
Assign one teacher as the class teacher for each class-section combination. The class teacher has special privileges: they can take attendance and view only their class's students (if Teacher Restricted setting is ON).
Choose the class and section from the dropdowns.
Choose from the list of employees with Teacher or above role.
The assignment is saved. Repeat for each class-section.
Subject Academic → Subject
Create subjects, assign them to classes, and link teachers to each subject.
| Field | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Subject Name | Required | E.g. Mathematics, English, Science, Hindi, Social Studies. |
| Subject Code | Optional | Short code used in timetable and report cards (e.g. MATH, ENG, SCI). |
| Subject Type | Required | Theory or Practical. Affects how marks are structured in the exam module. |
Assign subjects to specific classes. E.g. "Mathematics" assigned to Class 1 through Class 12.
Assign a teacher to each subject within a class-section. E.g. "Mr. Sharma teaches Mathematics in Class 9-A".
Timetable Academic → Timetable
Build and view timetables for classes and teachers.
Select a Class and Section to see the weekly timetable grid — days as columns, periods as rows, subject+teacher shown in each cell.
Select a Teacher to see all their assigned periods across all classes for the week.
ProSchool360 can auto-generate a timetable based on your subjects, teachers, and available slots. Steps:
Go to Academic → Timetable Slots. Add time slots: e.g. Period 1: 8:00–8:45, Period 2: 8:45–9:30, Lunch: 1:00–1:45, etc. Mark Lunch as a Break slot.
Select the class and section, set how many periods per week each subject needs, and click Generate.
The system fills periods automatically. You can manually adjust any cell and then Save.
Student Promotion Academic → Promotion
Promote students from one class to the next at the end of the academic year.
Choose the class you want to promote (e.g. Class 9-A in session 2024-25).
Choose the new session (2025-26) and the class they will move to (Class 10-A).
All students in the selected class are shown. Uncheck anyone who should NOT be promoted (e.g. failed students, left students).
Click Promote. Selected students are moved to the new class in the new session. Their previous session records remain intact.
Live Class Rooms Academic → Live Class Rooms
Schedule and run virtual live classes via integrated Zoom or Google Meet links. Students and teachers can join from the app/portal.
Enter: Class, Section, Subject, Teacher, Date, Start Time, End Time, and the meeting link (Zoom URL or Google Meet URL).
Save the class. Students see it in their portal and can join at the scheduled time. WhatsApp notifications can be sent automatically if configured.
Frequently Asked Questions
I added a class but it is not showing in the Add Student form. Why?
The class needs at least one section before it appears in student forms. Go to Academic → Class & Section → add a Section for that class, then it will appear.
Can one teacher be assigned to multiple subjects across different classes?
Yes. In Subject → Teacher Assign, you can assign the same teacher to different subjects in different classes. The teacher will see all their assigned classes in their Teacher Timetable view.
What happens to old timetable data when I generate a new Auto Timetable?
The auto-generate replaces the existing timetable for the selected class-section. Other classes are not affected. It is recommended to take a screenshot of the old timetable before regenerating.
